We Begin Our Coaching Programmes with a Demo Coaching Session
In the very first module, the programme directors conduct a complete live coaching session. Our participants experience first-hand what professional coaching looks like in practice.
Why?
Because coaching must not only be understood – it must be experienced.
During the demo coaching session, participants can observe how a coaching process develops – from initial contracting and hypothesis formation to interventions and new insights for the coachee. They experience not only the methods, but above all the attitude, presence and process facilitation that make coaching effective.
The programme directors’ live methodological meta-reflections offer particular added value. Throughout the session, they make their thinking transparent:
• Why was this particular question asked?
• What hypothesis was behind it?
• Why was a deliberate decision made not to intervene?
• What dynamics could be observed at that moment?
This gives our participants insight into the thinking and decision-making processes of an experienced coach – something that normally remains invisible in real coaching sessions.
At the Same Time, Something Else Happens
Participants can absorb the coaching session without feeling any pressure to act themselves. They observe not only the conversation, but also their own thoughts, feelings and associations. This sharpens their perception and allows them to develop their own coaching style step by step.
Our aim is not for participants to copy the programme directors. Our aim is for them to gain orientation at an early stage, experience different approaches to professional coaching and use these experiences to develop their own authentic attitude.
For us, demo coaching is therefore far more than a demonstration of methods. It marks the beginning of a professional learning journey.
Coaching is not learned through theory alone, but through conscious experience, observation, reflection and personal practice.
Participants begin conducting their own coaching activities during the very first module. Throughout this process, they are supported and guided by the programme directors.
