The Tavistock Institut gGmbH, Germany was founded as a result of the partnership between Tavistock Institute and oezpa Akademie & Consulting GmbH, based near Cologne / Bonn (https://www.tavinstitute.org/news/the-tavistock-institut-ggmbh/).
The Tavistock Institute of Human Relations (TIHR) was founded in 1947 and today conducts research and consultancy in the field of social sciences and applied psychology for the European Union, various departments of the UK Government and private clients. The institute has its own publishing house and publishes the renowned journal “Human Relations”, an international journal for the social sciences.
Founding members include Elliott Jaques, Henry Dicks, Leonard Browne, Ronald Hargreaves, John Rawlings Rees, Mary Luff, Wilfred Bion, and Tommy Wilson as Director. Other well-known collaborators joined later: John D. Sutherland, John Bowlby, Eric Trist, Fred Emery and Eric Miller.
